Every day is a blessing from the Lord. From the moment He awakes us, we are blessed with another opportunity to glorify His name.
Yet, sometimes before our feet even hit the floor the enemy will attack our minds with negative thoughts in an attempt to hinder the Lord's will. Thoughts such as, I don't feel like getting up or I don't feel like going to work may seem minor. But, if we begin the day surrendering to such negativity, how effective will we be for the Lord's kingdom?
As Christians, we must embrace every day with a Psalm 118:24 heart and rebuke thoughts that are contrary to the Lord's will. No matter what the day entails, the Lord has kept us here for His purpose. Therefore, with all that is within us, we must live each day, as if it were our last opportunity to show the world how much we love Him.

Who do people see when they see you?
It’s easy to proclaim Christianity but have you embraced the depth of what it truly means to walk as Christ walked?
Jesus’ walk was righteous, holy and pure. A walk obediently, unspotted from the world. No sin was found in him. He resisted sin to the point of bloodshed and committed his cause to his Father who judges righteously. His was so lovingly devoted to the will of his Father that he said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father;”.
As followers of Christ we are, a new creation, called to walk as Jesus obediently walked. Therefore, our walk should clearly exemplify the loving example of Jesus Christ. As he is, so are we commanded to be in this world.

How bright is your light?
As Christians we are often times the most sought after people in times of need. We give, give, give, and others take, take, take. The cycle can be relentless. But, as Christians we must obediently not grow weary in well doing. Even when the thought enters your mind that your kindness is being taken for granted, you must quickly take the thought captive unto Christ and keep serving in love.
The wonderful blessing we have is the peace in knowing that in all we do we are obediently doing it as unto the Lord not man. And the blessing to others is that each time we serve, they have the opportunity to witness the Lord’s love reflected through us and in turn give Him the glory and honor He deserves.
Remember, we are a light in this world…a light that should never go dim.

Are you spending enough prayer time before the Lord?
As Christians we are instructed to pray always (Ephesians 6:18). But, sadly many are so busy with the ways of this world that they are missing the blessings that emerge from such obedience.
The other evening, I was praying with my daughter. After, I finished in her gentle little voice she began to pray. She ended her prayer with Amen. Still lying next to her, I roughly counted the number of words in her prayer. There were approximately sixteen words that she had memorized and habitually recited just about every night. I had heard the prayer so many times that I could probably even recite it.
So, after a moment of silence, I inquired about how she would feel, if I only spoke sixteen words to her during the entire day. She said she wouldn’t like it. As I began walking out of her room, I basically said, well that is what you are doing to the Lord. Although, she is only a child there was a sign of remorse in her voice indicating that she understood.
We are all children before the Lord, so I challenge you to evaluate the time you are spending before Him. Not just communicating with Him in a distressful moment or after a long busy day in a robotic routine but with a humble heart of reverence. Of course, it’s not about the number of words prayed because the Lord already knows what we are going to say before we even speak.
However, we must always be humbly cognizant that obediently coming before the Lord is an honor not to ever be taken for granted. My prayer is that we will include the Lord in all we do throughout the day and make the most of every moment we are so privileged to have before Him.

Are you a person that calls on others with your burdens?
If so, ask yourself how firm is the foundation of my faith?
I have spoken to so many professing Chrisitians that will desperately reach out to others with issues that are on their heart(s) instead of going straight to the Lord.
Sadly, they will go from person to person sharing the burdens on their heart unknowingly reliving the emotions of their pain.
When one faithfully embraces the fact that the Lord never gives us more than we can handle, there comes an amazingly peaceful understanding that no matter how difficult the situation appears, we must obediently count it all joy when faced with temptations that challenge our faith. (I Corinthians 10:13 and James 1:2-8)
The wonderful truth is that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world and we are more than conqueror through Him (1 John 5:4).
So, I pray that the next time you are up against a situation that seems unbearable that you will cling to the foundation of your faith and wait patiently for the Lord to bring you through.
Much love
